It’s a spring tradition for the local news outlets to announce the new food and beverage options at Detroit Tigers games for the year. While I normally eat at a bar across the street with the best chicken shawarmas around before heading into the park, I’m still always curious to see what will be on offer.
This year, the thing that picqued my interest was the introduction of something called a French Onion Dip Hot Dog. Ummmmm, yes and yes. But I knew I could make it at home, and it would probably be fresher and better than anything I found at the ballpark.
When it came to a fresher version of this creation, I knew I could turn to Door to Door Organics (DTDO) to order all of the ingredients I needed, including beef hot dogs, sweet onions and all the rest of the ingredients needed for the creamy dip, and even veggies, chips and drinks to serve with the dogs. You can find out more about DTDO by reading my full review of the service, but quite simply, you sign up for a subscription with a produce box in the size of your choice. With that subscription, you get access to the DTDO store which carries hundreds and hundreds of organic grocery products, many locally made and grown.
Fate would have it that once I made these hot dogs, there was a Tigers game on TV! All the deliciousness of the ballpark, plus the game, from the comfort of my living room. Home run!
