These girls. My best friends in the world. I spent half of last week at Lake Michigan with them, and I wish our time together could have lasted a month longer. We’ve been best friends since high school, and even though we’re relatively scattered across the Midwest with jobs, school, kids and other responsibilities now, we’ve made it a point to meet in a central location a few times a year for a weekend (or in this case, mid-week) of fun.
We’ll get together even during the harsh Michigan winters, and though we end up spending most of our time in our cheap hotel room (and hot tub), it’s still a fantastic time. But I gotta say, this at-the-beach-get-together has been my favorite thus far. You could say we talked our faces off, because we literally almost did. We talked and laughed so much that we freakin’ injured ourselves. My jaw ached when I got home, and there was also a talking-induced sore throat.
Luckily, an iced beverage is perfect to soothe those ailments, and I had thrown a bottle of Jose Cuervo Iced Teagarita in my cooler. We love margaritas (we’ve been drinking Jose Cuervo margaritas for years during our girls trips), and we love iced tea, so what could be more refreshing after a day on the beach than a new twist on a classic that combines the two? Iced Teagarita is a mix of classic lime margarita, Jose Cuervo Tequila, premium orange liqueur and iced tea.
While this was a touch sweet for my taste, we all agreed that you could clearly taste both the iced tea and the margarita portion of the drink, making it a unique new cocktail option. It’s especially convenient for a trip like this, because all you need to do is pour it over [hotel ice machine] ice for an instant happy hour.
Iced Teagarita is available in both 750ml and 1.75L bottles. It launched this spring and is gaining a wider distribution throughout the summer. Look for it at a store near you and share a bottle with your besties. Also, be sure to connect with Jose Cuervo on Facebook.
