What kinds of food gifts do you like to make and receive during the holiday season? To be honest, I don’t do very much holiday baking. Maybe that will change as I get older, but for now, I may make a batch of those peanut butter-Hershey kiss cookies and call it good. So, when I want to send a little something special to loved ones, Harry & David are my men.
It started about five years ago when my mom started sending my husband and I a big box of pears each Christmas. If you haven’t had a Harry & David Royal Riveria Pear… words cannot describe them. Imagine any pear you’ve ever had from a grocery store, and then completely erase that image, because these are nothing like that.
Harry & David pears are soft and so juicy that pear nectar will literally drip down your arm as you are peeling the pear. They basically taste like pear candy. Jeff and I split one for dessert pretty much every night after we receive our yearly gift. And yes, these pears are so looked forward to each year that sometimes, I take goofy photos with them when they arrive. #dorkalert
Truthfully, though, you cannot survive the holiday season on pears alone. I probably shouldn’t admit this publicly, but I basically survive the week between Christmas and New Years on cheese, crackers, sausage (and pears). I don’t know why I do this, but every year, it just feels like the right thing to do.
Along with pears so good you’ll dream about them, Harry & David has a ton of sausage and cheese gift options for a friend or family member like me. Give me a plate with half a pear, some garlic jack cheese, summer sausage and honey hot mustard, and I’m a happy camper. These gifts also make great “gifts” to yourself. If you’re hosting a holiday party, let Harry & David do some of the work for you. Put out a bunch of these items for appetizers and you’re all set (I did this for Thanksgiving!)
Harry & David makes gourmet gift giving super simple and tasty for any food lover on your gift list. I would highly recommend a a gift box that includes both pears and sausage and cheese. All of the best things, in one box! Just be warned: your friend may start sending you creepy photos of herself posing with a box of pears. Just laugh and play along.

However, all opinions are 100% my own (I’m truly obsessed with those pears) and are not affected by the use of these links.
