I hope you had a great 4th of July weekend! The weather was perfect here in Michigan – plenty of sun, but not too hot or humid. I’m a total homebody, so I spent much of my weekend happily relaxing at home and taking bike rides and Jeep-with-the-top-down cruises around town. There was also some homemade ice cream makin’ (again) and root beer rib eatin’. Dream weekend, pretty much.
I spent the 4th itself kicking back with friends on a boat. And accidentally getting too relaxed, falling asleep on a raft, then waking up to all of my friends screaming my name as I floated away from the boat. Seriously, you’d think there were sharks in the water, not just stray swans. After my little raft nap, we came inside for some dinner and a round of Yellow Tail Sangria.
While I love making homemade sangria, it’s a lot of work/fridge space, so I only do it once a year. But that doesn’t mean that I don’t crave the fruity wine flavor of sangria several more times in the summer. Luckily, Yellow Tail just rolled out it’s own blend of sangria, so it’s now super simple to relax with a glass whenever I want. It’s a red wine with notes of orange rind, citrus and red berry, and it’s especially good on ice. I threw some orange slices in there for a little extra fruitiness, but that part is totally optional.
Winter is long, but summer goes by too quickly. It’s important to make the most of it. So grab some friends, kick back, and relax with Yellow Tail Sangria.
