Chocolate Dip for Fruit

This Chocolate Dip Recipe is made with five simple ingredients (no marshmallow fluff or Cool Whip). It's the best dessert dip for fruit, with the rich flavor of real dark chocolate.

Ingredients

  • 6 ounces dark chocolate
  • 8 ounces cream cheese
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ cup milk

Instructions

  • Place chocolate in a double boiler and cook until chocolate is melted and smooth, stirring frequently (see Note below for microwave directions). Remove from heat.
  • Place cream cheese, powdered sugar and vanilla in bowl of stand mixer fitted with paddle attachment. Start mixer on low until sugar is incorporated, then increase speed to medium-high and beat 1 to 2 minutes or until no lumps remain.
  • With mixer on low speed, slowly stream in milk until all milk is incorporated.
  • With mixer on low speed, slowly add chocolate until all chocolate is incorporated. Increase speed to medium-high and beat 1 minute or until dip is smooth and creamy with no lumps. Serve immediately or cover and refrigerate up to 4 days. Allow to stand at room temperature 30 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • You can also gently melt the chocolate in the microwave, heating it 20 seconds at a time and stirring in between each heating interval until it is just melted.
