Seasoned Rice

This Seasoned Rice Recipe is a homemade alternative to boxed mixes like Rice-A-Roni. Make this in minutes using ingredients you likely already have on hand.

Ingredients

  • 2 teaspoons dried parsley
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 2 teaspoons onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon chicken bouillon powder
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • ¼ teaspoon dried thyme
  • ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 ½ cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup basmati rice
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter

Instructions

  • In small bowl, stir together dried parsley, garlic powder, onion powder, bouillon, salt, paprika, thyme and black pepper.
  • In medium saucepan, heat broth to boiling over high heat.
  • Stir in rice and spice mixture and return to a boil.
  • Cover, reduce heat to low and cook 16 minutes. Remove from heat (do not open pot) and let stand 10 minutes.
  • Add butter and use fork to fluff rice until all butter is melted.
