This Grilled Chicken Wings Recipe uses a simple two-zone grilling technique to ensure that your wings are smoky and crispy on the outside, while being perfectly succulent and juicy on the inside.
5 from 1 rating

Ingredients

  • 3 pounds split chicken wings
  • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 ½ teaspoons kosher salt
  • 1 ½ teaspoons ground black pepper

Instructions

  • Preheat grill for two-zone grilling: Half of the grill should be set to medium and the other half should be set to low.
  • Meanwhile, place chicken in large bowl. Drizzle with oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Use your hands to toss until all chicken is coated in oil and seasoning.
  • Transfer chicken to medium heat half of grill. Grill 10 to 12 minutes or until chicken develops grill marks, turning occasionally (only turn when chicken easily releases from grill).
  • Move chicken to low heat half of grill and continue cooking 8 to 10 minutes or until internal temperature reaches 175 degrees F.

Notes

  • Feel free to get creative and add your favorite spices and dried herbs to the seasoning for these crispy grilled chicken wings.
  • If you don’t have an outdoor grill, you can use a grill pan set at medium heat for the first part of cooking, then lower the heat until the chicken finishes cooking.
  • Invest in a meat thermometer so it’s easy to check when your wings reach 175 degrees F.
