I’m Lori.
I’m a recipe developer and food photographer, and the leader of a small team behind this blog.
I was born and raised in southeastern Michigan, and I grew up eating all of the Midwestern classics – Kraft mac and cheese, potato salad made with lots of mayo, and buckeyes for Christmas.
A degree in Communications led me to a career in media planning, where I slowly started to realize that the best part of my day was going home and cooking something interesting for dinner.
So I quit, and enrolled at one of the nation’s top culinary schools. Sure, I had to wake up at 4 AM, and wear hideous checkered chef’s pants and paper hats, but I learned to make all the culinary classics from some of the best chefs in the country.
Since graduating, I’ve run this blog, and worked as a freelance recipe developer and food photographer. I live with my husband and daughter near Detroit.
