I’m really excited to be bringing you today’s recipe, because IZZE Sparkling Juice has always had a special place in my heart. All of the flavors are delicious (especially my forever love, the Clementine flavor), and of course, the bottles and cans are just adorable.
So adorable in fact, that when my husband and I decided to name our quirky-cute rescue dog Izzy, I actually wanted to spell it Izze instead. I couldn’t quite talk Jeff into it, but I still think that spelling would have suited #oneflops perfectly.
Now, while I love spending time with my canine best friend, she isn’t allowed to drink cocktails. That’s why I invite my human friends over for #FriendsdayNight. This can be any old night of the week. The key here is to just raise a toast to good times with some refreshing beverages.
I chose IZZE Sparkling Blackberry Juice for this Blackberry Tequila Mojito. IZZE is made with 70 percent fruit juice and just a splash of sparkling water, making it great for drinking on it’s on or using as a cocktail mixer.
So, look out, COCKTAIL POLICE: I’m taking some liberties with the word “mojito” here. A traditional mojito is five ingredients: rum, sugar, lime juice, soda water, and mint. Well, obviously we’re using tequila instead of rum here. I’m not a big fan of rum and I never have it on hand, but I have like 5 bottles of tequila in the bar cabinet (because hello, blood orange margaritas).
The lime juice and mint came to the party, so, yay tradition. But in place of the sugar (because who needs extra sugar?) and the soda water, I used IZZE Sparkling Blackberry Juice. I get a bit of sweetness as well as the fizz, with just one ingredient instead of two. Cheers to the world’s easiest, tastiest, 4-ingredient tequila mojito.
IZZE Sparkling Juice is available in eight flavors: Clementine, Grapefruit, Apple, Pomegranate, Blackberry, Cherry Lime, Blueberry and Peach. For more information, please follow IZZE on Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram and Twitter.
